Download free version of Revo Uninstaller (bottom of page under 3 ticks )
Once installed double click Avira entry and follow simple instructions.0 -

Try INSTALLING Avira and then uninstalling it.
Are you running any other anti-virus programs as normally running more than one causes unpredictable results
Failing that - I would suspect you have a nasty somewhere in your system0 -
Reboot.
Download MALWAREBYTES free version
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
Open malwarebytes and go to UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated go to SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds0 -

Are you sure it is Avira Antivir you have?
There is a rogue security programme that looks the same.......

The real Avira Antivir is normally quite easy to remove, if problems are occuring when trying to uninstall then it may have been corrupted for some reason.
As alan pointed out do you have more than one antivirus on your system and any other issues which are causing problems on your pc/laptop?0 -

I would recommend what dogmaryxx suggested and download Malwarebytes.
Run a scan just to check you have no nasties on your system.
As for reverting back to AVG if you feel comfortable using it then go ahead but it is not one of the best AVs to use these days because of low detection rates.
Either Avast or MSE would be preferably.0
