I've got the Logitech MX1000. Batteries last for about a week. I just have to chuck it onto the dock every so often for it to recharge which is very handy.

Am I the only person who doesn't see the point of a wireless mouse/keyboard? For most users, sat at a desk with a PC, it's an expensive and wasteful way of hiding a couple of wires.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
  • Not being the tidiest person in the world I found my mouse cable was always getting tangled up in the junk on my desk.

The teachers at the school where I work love theirs. They have projectors connected to PCs and wireless mice and keyboards which allow them to 'drive' from the back of the classroom and keep an eye on the kids

I used to be of the same school of thought, especially as I game quite a bit, but it is nice not having any cables. It can be quite an expense but I've liked it. The desk just looks nicer, plus it's handy.

I often sit back with the keyboard in my lap when programming, or sometimes use the mouse to control the pc from my bed (when watching tv etc... using the magnifier built into XP).

Plus the way I have my desk setup I'd need quite long (sometimes need an extension) cables for it to be able to reach and stay tucked away/hidden.

Thanks to everybody for the feedback. I didn't particularly want wireless mouse and keyboard its just that they came with the PC I wanted. I will see how I get on with them and if they are a load of hassle will simply use my old wired mouse and keyboard. Presumably they should work ok with new HP PC?

Do the batteries in the keyboards last a lot longer?
    Regards

Just buy some rechargeables as previously mentioned. The keyboard will last months.
