Cigarette burn of sofa - can I claim on insurance!

My friend kindly was babysitting for my dog last night and unfortunately burned the settee.
There is one burn but it has gone right through!
Would I be able to claim on my home contents insurance for this?
Thanks x

Probably do you have accidental damage on policy? But remember if you make a claim subsequent premiums will rise.0

Yes I do - I am gutted because it is right on the front of the seat so it cannot be changed!Total Quidco earnings - £547.98

I'd be more cross about invited guests smoking in my house TBH :eek:0

Is it leather or material. Sometimes it can be quite easy to patch up a leather hole but not cheap if you get it done properly.
As long as you have stipulated that you're a smoker and you have full accidental damage, you should be fine.

You may have a clause in your insurance that you pay the first few hundred pounds yourself, would it be worth a claim ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I would ask your friend to pay for the damage, as it was rather careless!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Has your friend not offered to pay? What was she thinking?!0
-
Your friend should be footing the bill!0
