Sky Player software

I am thinking of downloading Sky Player software on my laptop, and I was wondering what others are experiences with that product (I am a Sky subscriber); and also about there's something that I do not quite understand, and it says "The Sky Player Software uses secure peer-2-peer technology, which means that your computer will automatically share programmes you've downloaded with other Sky Player users. This is done by software called Kontiki (including KService and KHost) as part of the installation.."
Can anyone explain what it means? Will my laptop be in any danger?

It just means that instead of all users downloading the programme from a central server, all users will share with each other. So you may get the programme from another user who has already downloaded and vice versa. In reality u actually get different parts of the programme from hundreds of different users and in theory this should speed up downloading. It all happens in the background and all you need to be aware of is that it will contribute to any data limits you have (if your provider counts uploaded data).

I tried SkyPlayer briefly last night. You don't need to download any software to use it. Just stream it directly from the webpage if you don't need to view offline. http://skyplayer.sky.com/
