Where do I stand????

Hi guys new here not sure where to post this anyways..
Purchased a pair of DIVA hot tongs in red, from TKMAXX. Being £50 at retail price, £14 seemed a bargain to me! Purchased, came on time perfect until I turned them on, new electrical I always turn on give a few moments to get used to first time usage, I then turned off and went back later to actually use. I sectioned my hair and took a section of my hair to curl, obviously being a woman, I placed hair in tong and wound it up like you do, only to release hair for my hair to be completely burnt off the root, and STILL wrapped around the tong, this was on the lowest heat, 170'c which my old tongs I used at 200 but since these are apparently one of the best on the market I used at a lower setting, the hair was that badly burnt.. it would crumble when rubbed between fingers
Does this sound right to you, I darent try again!

Clearly not right. Take them back, tell them what happened and get your pennies back. If they try and fob you off just polity explain that since you have used others without this problem clearly there is some type of electrical fault, and ask if there has been any kind of problem with this model.I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0

I totally read this as red thong, and wondered what the heck curling your hair had to do with your underwear. I thought it was a joke post. lol
Sounds like there is a very bad fault. Take them back.0 -

I admit i read it exactally the same way. Only on the third time i got it lolI get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -
Did it come with instructions and did you read them? Perhaps they are very quick and shouldn't be held in place for too long. Even so, most people would use products like this in the same way as they have done in the past and that shouldn't happen. Poor you have you been left with a bald patch?
get your money back. At that price, maybe you have a copy of the original rather than the real thing.0 -
I went to TK MAXX today to explain and they said, because the item is working it is not classed as faulty. I said but I know full well that there is something wrong and that everyone has at least 7 days to take something back regardless to whether it is working or not. NOT HAPPY AT ALL, I don't know whether to keep going at TK Maxx or to DIVA themselves.. and no not a bald patch, just roots like of about 1inch long.. rest has gone0

Love the user name.0 -
Did you purchase them online? From your first post, I thought not, but seeing as you are quoting the distance selling regs in your latest post, now I'm not so sure, or are they TK Maxx's Ts and Cs? If you did purchase them online then you are entitled to return them within seven days regardless of whether they are faulty or not, but you will need to do this via their returns system and probably not in store.0

I would imagine that is what is making others subconsciuosly read 'thong' instead of 'tong'. Oh how the human mind works.;)Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
