New York, New York.

Hi, was in New York last month (with the bargain BA fares £150 to JFK).
We had a New York Pass which was great and saved lots of time at the Empire State Building as you get your tickets at a small shop inside the building and bypass the main queues.
We went to Niagara Falls for the day and had a great time. We flew from JFK to Buffalo via Jetblue airlines (cost around £80 each) and then hired a car for £25 for the day to see the falls on the American side. You can get on the Maid of the Mist and also Cave of the Winds which was spectacular. You could easily go to the Canadian side but there were massive traffic queues to come back.
Other things that were good: Statue of Liberty, United Nations tour, a cruise on the river, seeing Times Square, Rockefeller Centre & Central Park. For clothes shopping try the discount store Century 21 opposite the WTC site.
Have a great time!0 -

if it's the only time you are ever likely to visit them i'd say view them from both sides.0 -
davecallaghan wrote::T Thank you all so much guys. The only things I have booked are the flights with British Airways and the hotel via my brother inlaw whom is head concierge of a london hotel which has links with one in the big apple so I got some great rates. Hence the reason for booking the full seven nights when we will probably spend two nights in Toronto
I'll be sitting at my pc tonight planning the week. It will be a hectic one!:j
wouldn't it be easier and more convenient to hire a car rather than the train to do your trip to toronto and the falls ?0 -
FAO scwarts have that massive piano out of the Tom hanks film Big and the kids (me and my misses
) can play on it free, they also do a show every 15 mins or half an hour thats free to watch cheesy but fun for a few mins.
Its at the south east corner of central park on 5th Ave I think.
Friday and sunday night Niagara have a free fireworks show (i think its all year round) its a massive show too, well worth seeing.
Niagara have a nice theme park too rides arnt that good but they have lots of animal feeding.... fish, bears, baluga whales etc.
