  • As above I would (and did) choose a Siemens with 5 years part and labour warranty if you can find one for that sort of price over the ISE AW23. No idea about the Panasonic but not sure they are known for their washing machines, even though their TV's are (or used to be pretty good)

If I had twice the budget I probabaly would have chosesn an ISE 10 as I like the philospohy of the set up although worry about its long term business model

Some of the new models of Panasonic are made in Turkey by Vestel.

They also make the likes of Russell Hobbs machines sold in Argos, Next washing machines, they now own the Servis brand name and so on, basically they seem to moved to compete with the Chinese (Midea, Haier, Little Wuxi etc.) at the bottom end of the market. A few years back they made some not bad little machines but the engineers are not too impressed with the new ranges. Let's leave it at that. ;)

But, you can buy one washing machine with a Panasonic badge for £500 or, you can buy a cheap no-name one that's virtually identical for about half that.

It is very, very common that people buying any appliance haven't a clue what they're actually getting.

  • We have a 30month old Panasonic and I would buy the same again!
5 yr parts and labour guarantee. Super quick washes, even a 60c cotton wash only takes 1 1/2 hours, a more general lightly soiled 30c wash with 1400 spin is about 40 mins which is a lot quicker than most other machines we looked at.
