My contract is up for review so I am after a new phone (and possibly new provider!)
With Orange atm and have a BB curve. contract is £35 a month. Phone insurance is £6 and BB internet is £4.99 so in total £45.99 a month. I get unlimited texts and 900 minutes for this.
The cheapest phone bill i have had (in a year) is £48.91 and the most expensive bill i have had was £157.12 (OH was away, went WAY over minutes)
I like my BB - but mainly use the apps and internet (email, fb, ebay etc) i text and talk often. Cameras crap but pretty easy to use
I like the iphone features but am worried about the costs - camera is better than my BB but i'd rather not have a touch screen phone
Can anyone help me out? Any plans i should/could know about?

Why dont you just keep the handset you have, (Its still one of the best blackberrys) and get a sim only deal0

I have just got a BB Bold 9700 in white. I love it more than is normal I think but I knew I wanted a BB over an iphone as i had played with friends phones and found the BB more suitable for my needs and preferences.
I pay £28/mth plus £5.99 insurance and for that I have 900 mins, unlimited texts and 1GB of data. I am with 3 but I have been for around 8 years. You could definately haggle a better deal from your curent provider.House saving Targets:
£17,700 / £20,0000 -
you should watch out for the Bold, they seem to dislike being dropped! Personally I prefer the curve ... and definitely a BB over an iPhone, although I've never really used an iphone I used to have a touch screen pda and it drove me crazy, nothing quite like having buttons especially when trying to text one handed

I prefer Blackberrys. Having bought and returned a Samsung Galaxy S because I couldn't have separate Yahoo email accounts.
Bought a Bold 9700 until the 9800 Torch comes out. This gives you a touch screen and a keyboard. I'm on Simplicity 1 month rolling contract £15 with 300 mins, unlimited texts and Blackberry unlimited.0 -

Get personal possessions / away from home cover added to your home contents insurance and get rid of the phone insurance. That'll save you a few quid a month that you could put towards a different phone / tariff.
If you don't like the idea of a touchscreen phone then go for the BB 9700. It's a great little phone and there are some very good deals to be had out there. Don't forget to go through a cashback site for your new deal, though, to make even more money.
I have to confess I never thought I'd be able to get used to a touchscreen (tried the original BB Storm but didn't like it) but I've had a play with my wife's 3GS a few times and I have to say I'm quite impressed. So impressed, in fact, that I'm thinking of getting a 4 come renewal time.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button
