Shiny new appliances - recommendations?

Coming to pick appliances for our latest kitchen. I really hate this bit because there is just so much on the market.
I saw this yesterday (it's the Big Brother 11 oven, I'm told) and I have been quoted more than a fair price but it's still more than I wanted to spend.

matching hob

and island hood

But with two ovens the total price is something like £1740 and I still have an integrated fridge freezer and dishwasher to buy and the budget was £1500 in total.
Anybody got anything lovely that they want to show me that they think I should buy?! That might not be as expensive!
Also any comments on CDA because I'd not even heard of them before a couple of years ago but I'm told they're good. I actually have no idea!

Loving that hob but the oven looks a bit Star Trek. What are the 10 functions? I can think of fan oven, non-fan oven and grill. Ermmm...? If three of the others are fridge, freezer and dishwasher your budget isn't in such bad shape.0

lets be honest what do you use your oven/grill for if your anything like me its for grilling bacon and maybe cooking a roast or chicken and baking sometimes id just go to comet find a reasonably priced single oven with grill, a ceramic or glass gas hob and f/f and dishwasher job done lol.0

The budget is decimated. £1740 is for two ovens, hob and extractor. I haven't priced in the fridge freezer and dishwasher! H set it at £1500, I have a feeling it's going to go over that but I think this is too far over.
Even more expensive hob:

Was looking at white to go with the worktops

Yes, I have. Nice to see you over here too DG. I used to see you a lot on the House board, but I don't read that much now.
I bought a Neff induction hob - bargain at Comet £229 and a Smeg oven at John Lewis for £320 (inc trade-in). John Lewis had a lovely stainless steel Miele oven - the kind of SS that doesn't show marks - which is worth a look. I don't buy cheapo appliances as I think it can be a false economy. We have had some Siemens stuff too and that always looks great and is reliable (though Siemens, Neff and Bosch are the same company).0 -
£229 sounds a bargain for any induction hob, let alone a Neff one!
What's the John Lewis trade-in deal? I guess that's finished, can only find a TV trade in.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The JL Neff offer was £50 off when you recycled your old appliance. They seem to have dropped it on the model I got, but the £75 off more expensive Neff ovens still applies:

They were doing £100 trade in on Siemens fridge freezers too, but that seems to have ended now. Weird that the promotions don't run until the end of the month though.
The Neff induction hob was ex-display and they had it with a SEL that said it was a ceramic hob (though it says induction clearly on the front). Anyway, it rang through the till at £229 so I don't feel like I tricked them out of it. I think they just mispriced it. I nearly bought a black Smeg dishwasher for £200, but changed my mind as we are still renovating and it would have to be stored for a few months. I do like a bargain.0 -
Hi Doozergirl
I believe CDA are Chinese made stuff but guys on ukwhitegoods forum may be better suited to replying here. At £1500 for all appliance integerated you will be looking at cheaper end stuff that will probably not last (I appreciate that may not be your problem assuming this is a kitchen for a development!)
Personally I think you may be best trying your local independent shop and asking if they have any end of range stuff for Bosch/Siemens Neff etc and seeing if you can get a decent deal on that. At least you would be putting in something that would give a chance of being better quality
If you are anywhere near Essex/London area let me know and I'll post the shop we use0 -
Hello sunshinetours, thank you for your post. I have gone off the CDA stuff - read some reviews and they weren't great although I know that every company gets it share, they were pretty overwhelming!
The budget is moving in the direction of £2500 - I've told him we're getting nothing much for £1500. If you would post your people, that would be useful - we don't live htere but spend enough time in LondonEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
