Internet won't load

Hi,

I have a Dell XPS laptop (about 3 years old) which connects wirelessly and for about 10 days I haven't been able to load any internet pages on any browser (I'm posting from my work laptop and I usually use Firefox but have tried with IE too). I know the internet is working as both my housemate and my work computer can connect.

I haven't been able to find a solution through good old Google thus far. I've tried flushing my DNS, disabling my firewall, uninstalling my anti-virus with no joy. Was wondering if it was an add-on or toolbar in Firefox but I'm struggling to remove them / not sure if I've done it properly.

Hoping that the lovely MSE community may be able to help

Download, install and run CCleaner
Go to Tools > Start up and click on the save to text file button in the bottom right hand corner. Save the text file to your Desktop. Go to Tools > Uninstall and repeat the exercise.
Post both of these in your reply.

Try to connect directly to the router via ethernet in order to see if the situation is the same.

On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings. Make sure that Use a proxy server for your LAN remains unticked. Does Messenger work?

Use a proxy server..... is unticked.

Messenger isn't working although I don't use it so I couldn't guarantee that it was working before there was a problem. Skype works fine. I use Windows Live Mail which doesn't work.
