Orange contract- how to end it early

Hi there,

I have an Orange mobile with a 24 months contract which is due to end in November this year. However I have recently moved back to my parents house since leaving uni but the signal isn't great here, so I want to cancel the contract now rather than wait until November so that I can get a contract with another network. Is this possible to do? Or will Orange charge me for cancelling my contract early? I've looked on their website for information but I can't find anything about terminating a contract. Please help!

You've agreed to a contract and you'll have to honour it.

If you want out before the end point you'll have to pay off all the months until the end date. They may give you a discount for paying early and I believe there's no vat (as you're not getting the service). But that's the best you can hope for. . .
  • If I wait til November when the contract ends then...how do I actually go about ending the contract? Is it right that I can notify them 30 days before the end date that I don't want to renew my contract or do they contact me when my contract nears its end. This is my first time on contract so i don't really know much about terminating contracts.

Yes, thats correct. Contact them 1 month & 1 day before your contract is due to run out.

You need to give a minimum of 30 days notice. You can ring them at any time and tell them.

If you want to do a straight cancel just tell them that. If you want to keep your number and move it to another network you need to ask for your pac code and then give that to the new network. They'll move your number over and Orange will sent you a final bill (but don't do that until you're in the last 30 days)...
