Hi Bluejeans,
Thanks for the reply, I haven't (as yet) had the courage to start my own diary, but I am considering it. I love this site and have learnt so much by reading the threads.
I, like you have being doing a cheap makeover on the house (must be the thought of all those visitors at Christmas). We found some 'kidproof' paint in Homebase the other day, was £28 but reduced to £2!! Just the right colour for our dining room and another two colours for the youingest kids bedroom. Didn't intend to do these rooms just yet as we are skint but for less than a tenner we have done both. Rearranged the furniture in the dining room and changed around pictures from the loft and hay presto a 'new' room. Also freshened up the hall, stairs and landing, still had some of the original paint so went over the worst of the scuffs and marks, re glossed the pannelling and stripping the bannister with left over paint stripper from doing the fireplace years ago, gonna wax it with the left over wax also from the fp. Makes me feel so much more positive when the house looks nice.
Money saving has been up and down this week. Checked electric usage online (our supplier enables you to do this) and we are DOWN 10% on last year for the same period, I am soooo pleased, all the nagging has paid off and I feel justified in buying my new slow cooker. BUT lost out on 20 hours o/t this week and no pay from 2nd job due to DD being ill, that's gonna knock Xmas fund. BUT got 1st del from Big Brands for Less today so that put a smile on my face!!
Sorry, longer post than I meant.
As for magazines, try reading them online and also look up any receipes etc for Christmas.
Well done to everyone on their money saving and positive attitudes, keep it up.

Hi again,
Right I have taken the plunge, you inspired me to start my own diary 'Sorting through my rubbish' the title kind of covers it all really!!!!
I am hoping having a diary to write my thoughts and feelings and highs/lows in will make me concentrate on what I want to achieve and stop me from wasting what little cash I have.
Fingers crossed!

Hi BlueJeans
Have just come across your diary during a quiet period at work and wanted to wish you luck on your debt busting. Haven't managed to read it all but I will do and will be following your progress.
I've started reading diaries before but not properly considered it but after starting to read yours I have decided now is the time to start a diary of my own, so thanks for the inspiration, so many inspiring people on here!
