Can I ask why? Does the sandpaper bit wear down?

I guess it must do - I have used both the older (metal) and newer (plastic) potato peelers and the newer one did a much better job.

  • Can we close this thread please? I thought this was supposed to be a MONEYSAVING website! This thread has just sent me off to Ebay looking for a Kenwood Chef which I have managed quite happily without for the last 30 years....:rotfl:

Edit: and have just fallen in love withthis...

Buy an A701a or whatever. One of the second hand old ones. Just as good and worth having.

Mind you please can we close this 'cos i've just spent another thirty quid on a mincer and sausage stuffing attachment for my kenwood.

Still i'm having sooo much fun:rotfl: :rotfl:
  • ooooooh yes buy an A701 or an A901 that comes with loads of attachments.

Of course if you really want to spend that kind of money and buy new you can get a food processor that fits on the top of that model (KM001, KM003, KM005) The food processor only fits that model - I wish they would do one for a regular Chef because it looks neat, though I don't really need it, as I have a perfectly good KC liquidiser, KC multi mill and also a Bamix.

If you bought it here you'd get the food processor thrown in and also some baking trays? There are probably even better deals around - but whereever you buy one try to get as many attachments with your original purchase as possible, as they really add up if you buy them seperately.

Not that I would actively encourage you to buy something expensive. Even if it would save you lots of money in the long run or gave you loads of fun and entertainment, or improved your cooking skills to no end, or freed up lots of time. No sir-ee, I'm just not the kind of person who would do that...:p :p:p

Thistle, do you have the cream maker?

If so, how does it work?

Foreverskint, there are: shredder, mincer, cream maker, blender, 3 different hooks, pea huller/bean slicer, potato peeler, colander/sieve. Grain mill also and maybe pasta maker ( not sure). also citrus juicer and a juice extractor.
Oh I forgot: ceramic bowl, acrylic bowl, stainless steel bowl, splash proof lid, can opener.

And yes, it's perfectly normal to become obsessed with attachments...just look at me!

Thistle, I have another (stupid this time) question: what does the colander actually do?
