    hahahaha@ Landy.

In the meantime, I was discussing with a friend last night who knows distantly of someone having their house featured in a 'Good Homes' magazine or country living or something at Christmas. This person was fairly adament they'll be getting paid good money for this and I'm 99% sure they won't get a penny, possibly some better deals for plugging the names of companies but that's it. I came to this conclusion as an old car of mine was in a few international magazines as a feature and I never received a penny and didn't expect to.

    Who is correct?

I think i'm correct in saying that no one featured on reality programmes like these get paid.

You don't get paid, but as I understand it, featured suppliers give generous discounts to the participants. I think there was a trader who earlier on in the thread said he was often approached by tv shows asking for free stuff. I recall from other MSE threads that shows like Property Ladder don't pay but may help with certain expenses and getting deals from suppliers.

As for being in house magazines, I am certain you don't get paid. It always seems to me that the people featured are interior designers or run shops - I think they use it as free advertising. Or just showing off, one of the two.

Thoroughly enjoy the programme but do realise its for tv viewing so we are going to see the extremes and maybe things will be slightly exaggerated but still love these sort of shows.
Also live extremely close to CambridgeAngel so glad to see a local listed building restored. The previous week it was a couple from Portsmouth/Brighton so again it was interesting watching.

I have insulated my roof also with similar stuff on the programme, so hopefully will reap the benefits.
Also loved the underpinning foam which never knew existed, so these programmes do show you some things.
