    I have a T-mobile desire and downloaded froyo last night. Works fine and the mobile WiFi hotspot is quite neat.

    Yes. De brand it if you want the updates direct from HTC.Google 'de brand HTC Desire' and you will see many results for it and it is very easy to do. If you de brand it make sure you keep the 'gold card' for future updates as many have de branded their phones and downloaded the recent performance update and not used their gold card which results in functions not working.

    O2 have not handled the release of the update well and if you can afford to do so buy the phone sim free then you get the updates when HTC roll them out not when your network have finished messing about with it. o2 did release it but then pulled it due to 'problems' which mean they have cocked it up.
