Humax + 2nd tv = Headache! - Help!

Hi, I'm getting rid of sky plus which is currently on my main TV in the living room and connected via rf2/magic eye to tv in bedroom. I've read that much stuff that my head is now swimming. I am wanting to replace my sky box with a Humax, not sure which model but feel I should move with the times and get the fox sat HD ? Anyway, I've read that they don't have the rf out to allow me to use my magic eye so if I have read correctly, I think I need a modulator? Bot not sure what I need upstairs, or do I still use the magic eye?
I really want to be able to watch recorded programmes in the bedroom without having to buy another box.
I'm really confused - could anyone just tell me what I need to buy (including which model you would recommend) and how to connect it.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks
Jo

Thanks for the reply. Set up looks fairly simple but still can't get my head around how I am going to send the signal to TV upstairs. Don't really want to use an AV sender as get too much interference so would rather do it another way if I can...anyone any suggestions?0

You could always use the RF out if you ran a coax cable to upstairs.0 -
Would the existing aerial lead that is up there work from the rf out? There is one up there which I can view the sky signal from so does that mean there is already one in place?

Yes it should - sorry i forgot you said you were using RF2 and Sky magic eye. Should work in the same way then although I don't know if the magic eye will work for changing channels.0 -
Ooooh that would be ideal. Bit crap if I can't change channel but I'm sure there would be a work around for that. Does anyone else out there already have humax that has it set up this way???0

That will NOT work with the Humax it does not have an RF output. You would need an external RF modulator connected to a scart output on the Humax and to your existing coax cabling - such as this
http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?TabID=1&criteria=usb&ModuleNo=33050&C=SO&U=Strat15
To control the Humax from other rooms you could use the existing magic eye with a Sky Link Plus (or similar device) see here

As above, yes sky puts out the signal from the box over RF (for a crappy 2nd picture) but the Humax doesn't have RF. It has 2 sat inputs, and one sat output, to allow the sat signal to pass through to another sat device. Your output options, excluding HDMI which I think you're using for your main TV, and excluding a video sender (and I think that would be your best bet, find a good one), are SCART or composite (red white and yellow). Both of these would require long leads, and the picture may suffer if you use these leads over a big distance. Video senders often come with little Magic Eye IR senders anyway, which you just stick in front of the IR sensor on the Humax, and also on top of your TV upstairs.
Dave's solution above using your existing Magic Eye might be good too.
£180 is a great price for one, even if it is Grade A.0 -

Sorry my mistake. I had googled the Foxsat HDR and mistakenly clicked through on the Freeview version which does have RF out.0
