Can I ask santander to freeze interest on relatively low debt?

Hello there,

Many apologies if this has been asked before, but I've googled all over and can only find answers which apply to extreme cases..

Basically I am an (unfortunately) unemployed single mother, I AM looking for work but never seem to get a response to ones I apply for, and have three main debts with banks:

£2000 overdraft with RBOS
£100 credit card with Sainsbury bank
£500 credit card with Santander (Debenhams store card - oh the regret)

I also have debts to the council for council tax arrears - this stands at around £300 and is taken from my benefit, about £3 a week. I have a debt to my old university of £250 which I am going to repay when I return next year and a debt to the social fund of about £400 which is taken from my benefits, £13 a week.

Please do not judge me for my debts or lack of job, believe me I am trying and I regret being so stupid. I didn't even buy anything extravagant, most of it was travel to see my family who are 500 miles away.

Anyway the Santander credit card is what I am worried about. I am paying about £20 min payment a month and this barely covers the interest. Last month the interest actually brought me over the limit. I am left ith barely anything to live on after servicing this credit card every month and it's not like the money I pay is even paying it off. I have heard somewhere that one can get the interest frozen on accounts in extreme circumstances but am wondering if there is a template on getting the interest frozen on my relatively low debt please? The interest is nearly 30% apr and crippling me.... plus the overlimit fees .. i wish i had never taken it out :(

Going to the CAB is not an option, I know the people who work there, so would be very grateful for any help and advice anyone has (other than "get a job you lazy good for nothing trollope, you've made your bed now lie in it etc)
