Can you point me to where I can get a Sim Cutter or template please?

    Thanks

You can buy a sim cutter from several web sites, just google microsim cutter or look on ebay.

    Here is a Template:

Thanks for the template. Did you find that your vodafone sim had the chip a lot closer to the top than on the template? If I follow the template exactly I would end up cutting some of the top of the chip off!

    Thanks

I used a sim cutter which I bought off the net, because I was going to cut down my original sim and didn't want to risk damaging it, but I then found them for sale on eBay for £9.99 with £15 of credit so bought one and cut that down with the cutter.

But looking back i'd risk cutting it down and if damaged buy another sim.

I not sure if they are still for sale on ebay so the risk is greater and if there is an iPad 2 with a mircosim more people my want these old sims, they will become very rare and sort after.

It is cut very close to the chip, the chip is right to the top edge but I can't see it cutting into the chip, did you watch the video?

I have bought a sim cutter now but if you take a look at the site below you will see that this guy has a vodafone sim and it looks like you do have to cut a bit of the chip off at the top.

I've still got the outer part that the sim cutter removed and there isn't any of the chip on there, so it looks like the chip wasn't cut.

I kept the outer part to use if I wanted to use it as a full sized sim (a bit of tap to hold it in place).

Also the sim in the photos isn't a 1GB sim, it's a pay monthly sim; the APN setting is wrong for the 1GB sim.

    Hi

Sorry I wasn't saying it was a 1GB sim but just pointing out what my vodafone sim looks like in terms of the chip positioning.

Can you confirm what the APN setting will be for use in the iPad please as I don't know this.

    Thanks

Got my iPad today and sim cutter. It did cut a bit of the metal chip when doing it but obviously it was not important as it fits nicely in my iPad and works great.

    Thanks for your help
