And what would she do if the second pair goes wrong? She would have used the receipt on the faulty pair!

    Also, its FRAUD!!!!

If you wanted to get technical, you could take back either faulty pair on the same reciept, saying they developed a fault again. It might be unethical but it's not rocket science
  • :jHi all, thanks for all your help in regards to this matter....
I took the straightners back to Sally today, calmly and politely explained the situation, and that I had lost the receipt.
The lady asked when I had bought them, I said the 9th of September, she said "this year?" I said yes, and she was very nice and said " oh right, well no problem then, we will just swap them"!!!

I was amzed and delighted, so thumbs up to Sally!!!!
Lovely people, she said it was "customer goodwill".
I also, now, have a new receipt with the new pair, and it's going into a VERY safe place ;)

You appear to have missed the point...

If the OP did as suggested and went out and bought a new pair then used the receipt from the new pair to return the first faulty pair (for which she had lost the reciept) what would she be left with?? Answer = No receipt - nothing "technical" about it at all.

    Also the store could've:-

a.) marked the reciept to say refunded,
b.) not returned the receipt to the OP.

Now, by not having a reciept for the second (new) pair the OP had forked out for would be a return to square one!!

Now thats certainly not "rocket science."
