Hi, I bought my daughter some straightners for her birthday from the Sally shop, which sells all hair dressing stuff. I bought them on the 9th September, her birthday being the 13th, and last night we discovered they don't work anymore, seem to have developed a fault whereby they either don't turn on or won't stay on....
STUPID me has lost the receipt, I have a raging headache from trying to think what I did with it
I therefore have no proof of purchase, altho i THINK only this shop sell this brand, (in our town), and maybe the manageress will remember me cos we chatted for a while about the best straightners....
Otherwise, am I screwed????!!!!!

They have 1 yr warranty and yes I paid cash! But how can I prove they're less that a month old let alone a yr without receipt?0

If you registered the warrenty it starts from that date....0

Hmmmm well I didn't,again thru stupidity but also the fact that I am so busy and tired I forget things all the time.( long story but illness has made me v forgetful)
Thanks for your help!! It's my own fault I guess.0 -
I have a sally's membership card (not sure if they use them anymore as i haven't been for ages) Which they swipe when you buy anything. If they still use them, could they not check the system for the items bought?0

Aw thanks rain but this Sally shop is open to the public so I don't have a card, nice thought tho! :-)0

Buy another pair of straighteners.
Wait a week or two
Take the original pair back and say you want refund (with receipt)Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those affected (Benjamin Franklin) JFT96...YNWA0 -

You can't just demand a refund, as a repair or replacement would also be a fair option in this case, so the OP would end up with two pairs!
OP, you might as well try going back to the shop to see if they'll exchange them. Nothing to loose, and the sooner you do it, the more likely they are to remember you.
Perhaps if you can remember the exact day adn time you bought them, then they'll have a record of the transaction on the till?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Lucky you...here, we have to get through 3 gargoyles, race down an old mine shaft chased by a big boulder, jump tracks and fight off killer monkeys before we even get to the till!!!!!0 -
