Can you get a last minute deal these days?

I found out last week that I had the opportunity to go on holiday this Sunday with my girlfriend for a week. A little short notice but I thought we would have no trouble finding a holiday, but we are struggling.

Our needs are not too bad except we have to travel on the Sunday. But are happy going to the canneries, Greece, Cyprus, turkey, basically somewhere warm.

I have tried teletext, travelzoo and most of the main firms but I am getting nowhere. What is my best option now?

1. Shall I wait until Saturday and try and get a cancellation for the sunday?

2. Keep looking and hope something turns up in the next few days (but the prices seem to be going up)?

I have just looked through all the operators

The destinations you have given above wouldnt be possible

The amount of flights going out to the above is less than a handfull, There was something to Zante on the Sunday night leaving midnight, but the flight land back UK time on the monday morning at 9am that would of been possible

There is literally nothing cheap, and dont think its going to be possible even if you wait until Saturday, what you have to remember the places in question ie Greece/Turkey/Canaries have been hit hard with the collapse of the two operators going down over summer resulting in fewer flights. The demand for seats is far greater this month of course for the weather

just looked on skyscanner and charterflightcentre and all the flights are over £100 per person - thought they'd be cheaper than that. Even so if you could get a flight to allicante you could probably get a good deal on accommodation in Benidorn if you thibk you might like it there. good luck.

you could fly to malaga from Liverpool for just over £100 each with Ryanair. there would just be £10 each to pay by card if you don't have a pre-paid mastercard and this doesn't include any hold luggage but their onboard allowance is a generous 10kg and i can manage over 2 weeks on that. you could look on the holidaytruths website at the costa del sol forum for some advice re all inclusive in that area if that's what you want or there will be loads of self catering accommodation available on holidaylettings, owners direct or holiday-rentals and you should be able to negotiate a good deal at this late stage. other advantage to malaga airport is that I understand public transport is very good.
  • Cheers looks like Spain might be the best bet then
