11 yr old boy getting greasy skin and spots

Our 11 yr old GS has started to get a glow (greasy skin) on his face and has a spot on his cheek . What products would be best for him to use as we suspect that its hormonal changes that are causing this. We use L'Occitane products for washing and bathing.
Our 2 grown up daughters never seemed to have a problem with greasy skin and spots, nor did I, so this is a new problem for me to deal with. I'd like if possible to get him on top of the siutation before he gets major break outs.
Thanks
TBH, a lot of kids go through this. With DD I encouraged her to drink more water, soap and water and fresh air.
Over the past 2.5yrs (she is nearly16) it got worse with her periods starting and she started using Clinique for greasy skin and when very bad about 18months ago she briefly used quinaderm (sp) from the chemist and this worked a treat.
Her skin is now ok but she uses the Clinique daily and drinks and eats well.

I've used colloidal silver from this site and it really helped heal the deep sore hormonal spots I had on my jaw.

My 10.5 yo started getting blackheads and spots over his forehead this summer. I took him to our GP who thought he was a little too young to start with spots and thought what was happening was that DS was getting sweaty under his fringe and wiping the sweat with his hand across his forehead. Dr did give me some cream, that I've forgotten the name of. Since he went back to school, hehas had his hair cut so he can spike it up, things have improved since he ahd this new hairstyle.0

Another thing I'd recommend is looking at the Boots Botanics range, they have some very good washes/scrubs/moisturisers for anything from dry to greasy skin. I use this for my dry skin and for the hormonal acne, and it's cleared it a treat.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

Skin problems almost always stem from diet.
Try get your GS to drink more water and cut out as many processed foods as possible and avoid all junk.
Fresh fruit and veg, smoothies and water and his skin will improve.......and so will overall health.0 -
I have this problem with my 11 year old too. He also has greasy hair just two days after washing.
To be honest I wouldn't expect an 11 year old to be washing his hair less often than every other day anyway, your hair gets grimy and sweaty just like your face and you clean that every day.0 -
i would def go with liz earle my son has used it from 11 and is now 15 it has worked really well for him he now uses the mens scrub too and the spot on when needed ,my daughter is 9 and has greasy skin and spots my doc says its normal at her age. when i mentioned to him i thought she was abit young he said any age after 9 is classed as fine .She too uses liz earle and it works very well on her forehead where she has probs .Its fine for boys to use skincare nowdays my son and his friends are worse than any girls(The bodyspray/aftershave when theres a few of them in the room could knock you out its smells that strong lol ) hes a rugby/football player and rides dirtbikes. Teenage boys seem to now want to be seen taking care of themselves with products than not and seem grubby ect .In my experience its better to start kids using something for any spotty skin as soon as needed rather than have bigger probs later.:Dnothing thats meant for you passes you by ..;)0

For 'normal' teenage acne Dayenne soap is fab(can buy online) approx £10 bar but lasts forever. Son's skin cleared up brill.
Now he has had problems with 'drug induced' acne(prescribed drugs I hasten to add) and for that he has needed precription drugs to clear it.0
