why do orange seem to have no stock of phones if youre upgrading but u can get the same phone on a new contract?
surely it would be beneficial to try and keep your existing customers aswell as getting new ones

Each section has it's own stock.
They're different divisions with their own management. They don't share stock.0 -

Are you going direct to orange for your upgrade? I upgraded to a samsung galaxy s last week and recieved it the next day, no one mentioned a delay.

yes i am-maybe u got lucky mustb and ordered on a day they had stock in

I am with orange for last 5 years. always had top end models in upgrade and good deals too. this time, i might go away.
Reason,
1. No variety of phones to choose from: Desire out of stock. No other models of HTC available. BB Bold white not available. Many others not available which are offered by other networks. I have been constantly observing them for a couple of weeks to find a good deal.
2. Their plans are not best as they used to be: Last night i was comparing BB bold black and iPhone 4 with voda. and voda came much cheaper than orange with more allowance.
I might have to haggle much with their retention team, and I hope they can match other's offer and a shiny new phone.
PS: i am at the end of my contract and can't make my mind for the new phone and orange has very little to offer this time.0 -
i know wot you mean ksoni-like i said other retailers have a better choice but it means starting again with another phone number and a whole new contract
they wouldnt budge on the price of the phone with me when i asked how much it would be even though i quoted a better deal so might just go elsewhere anywayWhat goes around-comes around0 -
How about trying what the likes of Phones4u, e2save etc etc can do for you on an upgrade?
I'm in the same position from tomorrow and if Orange don't play ball I'll try the other companies that do upgrades, I do want to stay with Orange though.0 -
p4u said they'll have to charge me for an upgrade cheaper to start a new contract with orange! What goes around-comes around0
