Hi, I could really do with some advice. Not long ago I posted this thread
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=266999
about refunding a buyer who had paid the UK postage and not the US.
I refunded him on the 19th Sep and gave him the US postage cost in an invoice - and reminded him again a couple of days ago. On ebay and on paypal.
As I had heard nothing and not received any payment I opened an unpaid item dispute and this is what he replied:
hi sorry i havent made the payment, you said you were going to refund me my m oney fom paypal and yu havent done so, i was waiting for it to kick my paypal account for me to clear the payment with you wih the original price of shipping, now i d ot understand why is it that you send me a strike when
it is me that should be sending you one for not refunding me my money, my paypal account email is
c*******@yahoo.com, as soon as you send the refund ill make payment, Thanks
I went into my paypal account just to double check everything and it says the refund went through on the 19th. Is there a way I can show him the refund?? I don't understand why he hasn't recieved it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

IMO he's trying it on. If you have refunded him he should have recieved the money.
Do you have the email from Paypal confirming the refund, if so pass this on to him.
I've had nothing but palpatations from Americans who believe they are part of the UK when it comes to postage costs.
Foward the email, give him 24 hours to cough up or end the dispute by giving him a strike.
PS Be aware he can leave feedback because he has responded to the disoute.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

If he paid via credit card the refund will go back to his account, so tell him to look on his CC statement rather than his paypal account.

It must be in his history ,all he has to do is bring up the history page with all his transctions. That is what I would tell him . I wouldn't send him anything to 'prove' it ,he has that himself. Paypal will keep all his and your messages so long as you write through their dispute process thingy I think, so you have proof he is denying he has it and that you have sent it.0

At the moment i have refunded an American for an item he bought because he paid the UK postage and he has paid again with UK postage in spite of the fact I have told him I am no longer selling the item.0

Now that's a different scenario. If you had your settings to allow overseas bidders you must let him pay the difference and have the item. Assuming we are not talking weeks here or you haven't completed the full NPB dispute, you can't just say you won't sell the item as that will leave you open to a non performing seller complaint. However if he continues to insist on paying just the UK postage amount then go through the NPB process on him and reclaim your final value fees and then you are released from any obligation to sell it to him.

Thanks everyone.
I have written back to the buyer telling him to check his paypal history to see if hes sees it. I also told him I have reference numbers and the email from paypal confirming it but have not given him these.
Also just remember this message he sent to me
hi i never received the total includin the shipping for us, please let me know and send invoie to my paypal c*****@yahoo.com, thanks have a good day
Doesn't this suggest he received the refund but not the new invoice !?!?
I don't think he knows what he's talking about.

He has asked me for the transaction ID etc... I don't know if he can input them somewhere on his account.?
I just rang paypal and they are sending him the info. Also - quite interestingly - they said he had tried to pay me yesterday but it was declined. As I do not have this in my history this means his CC company declined him (I THINK ?!?) - the woman at paypal said this anyway.
Funny that he is making such a fuss over the refund and then he tries to pay me anyway! Is he just buying for time??
I think I would rather end the transaction and get my fees back but I don't want to annoy him !!0 -
I did a screenshot of the refund when I was in a similar situation, and sent it to buyer. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
