My local B&Q is useless as they dont carry much in the way of stock. Ive got £120 in gift vouchers in my bag ready to spend on my house. I wanted doors, they only had 2, i needed 6. I wanted a blind for the bedroom we have turned into an office and they didnt have the size i needed. The carpet i liked the look of was too wide and i would have had to throw away loads.

B&Q Paint is cheap but dire (took so many coats to look good).

Might end up putting these vouchers up on Ebay.

Just been in for paint and shocked at £28 for a 2.5 Ltr tin. We came away empty handed. No way am I paying that much as we will need more than 1 tin.

I use Toolstation a fair bit as they do free delivery when spending over £10.
Only use B & Q for basics like sand, plasterboard. Wickes the same

Have used Howdens for things like doors etc. Just go in and mention you are doing a house up and they set up an account for you.

I tend to just compare the lot and buy from where ever is cheapest or nearest to get to at a good price
