Porting to Virgin
I want to go from O2 to Virgin contract. When I spoke to Virgin they said that I could port my O2 number anytime after the contract started.
I seem to remember a lot of networks only allow porting when you first move to them, however the guy from Virgin assured me that it could be done anytime.
Has anyone done it after the contract was up and running?

Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yep, not a problem. Gave Virgin the code from O2, they gave me a date for the number transfer and by 9am on that date the transfer had been done. Was told that once o2 give you the code you must activate it within 28 days. Hope this helps0

As I said in my 1st post the seem to remember that porting has to be specified when you place an order with your new network otherwise it can't be done.Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.0 -
Nope applied to do it about 2 weeks after buying my phone. As long as the o2 number is still in your name it's not a problem as far as I am aware0

The guy from Virgin is right about how Virgin deal! When I joined Virgin, they gave me a (temporary) number. Once the PAC had been issued and the changeover date reached, the account assumed my previous number, and I stopped using the temporary one.0
