I NEED to get me one of those!!!!!0 -
You need an empty cupboard - when you have people coming over, just bundle it all up into there! Used to work a treat for me when the boys were little. Alternatively put your sofas at an angle and use the space behind it for chucking junk!!![/QUOTE]
That reminds me of a friend who used to put dirty dishes in the OVEN when people were coming round to visit and she hadn't had time to tidy up. She now has a dishwasher....Make the most of your days, enjoy your life.0 -

which reminds me of when I went to visit a friend on a Thursday who opened the oven to put pizza in & found the roast spuds from Sunday:rotfl:0 -
i think getting rid of clutter is the key to it all as well
if you haven't as much stuff it can't get as messy0 -
Who was it that said once dust gets to a certain thickness it doesn't get any worse.
So just leave it.

I do a certain task on a certain day of the week. Laundry is always done on a Saturday, vacuuming on a Sunday. Sinks and toilet are wiped down daily, and whenever I need to go from one room to another I find something that belongs where I'm going and take it there. We're not perfect, but our living room and dining room are fine. We have toys on the floor - but we have a baby and I am happier when she has stuff to play with that she can easily reach.
After she's in bed at night, I hunt down a further 10 things that need to be put away, then I do the dishes and wipe down the kitchen counter. And I'm done. We don't live in a show house by any means, and if anyone saw our bedroom or the study I would be beside-myself mortified - but the visitor areas are clean enough, and clean enough is good enough.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

i just could imagine leaving dirty plates in the sink !!!0 -

I've done that before, when I've had my awful step-aunt arrive with 10 minutes warning and expecting to be shown around the houseMortgage Free by 40 Challenge #190 -
Hi,
I bag stuff up as i go round. At the mo dd is terrible at leaving stuff everywhere so i put it all in a carrier and pop in her room, she doesnt like it messy so it gets tidied.
I do the same for the rest of the rooms and its not too bad..infact guess what im going to do now!0 -
Thanks for that bitter and twisted i have just gone round the downstairs with my laundry basket picking up things that should be upstairs and i'm happier now its clutter free again. Just got to sort it upstairs now. I like neat and tidy, shame my DH can live in mess.0
