Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
  • We had a rude awakening too - nappy explosion so Jake and his bed stripped washed and re-dressed. I have never seen so much poo, he sleeps in a sleeping bag and it had gone through his nappy, vest, sleepsuit, sleeping bag and onto the sheets. Poor baby was up to his armpits in cold poo.

Need to S&S kitchen so I can bake that ginger cake at last. Someone gave us their old dinner service as they got a new one but they didn't wash it up before they gave it to us! So I have a MEGA pile of washing up to do. Looks like our friends had curry for dinner last night! Seriously though, you'd wash something like that before you gave it away wouldn't you? Well I know I would!
    So, there are these boys,
    They kinda stole my heart,
    They call me Mummy

HELP, please, with two questions. I'm looking for a little heater for the loft (DS1's bedroom) and don't know which kind is cheapest to run. Also, I've bought a massive gammon (almost 5kg) and am wondering what's best - cook whole, then slice up and freeze, half it and do the same, or quarter it for four dinners and leftovers.

Best move my backside off this sofa, as it's getting late. Have a good Sunday, everyone.

Can't help with the heater I'm afraid but the gammon, I'd quarter or half it so you could do different methods, i.e. roast one and do ham in cola for the other maybe? x

Soappie - good to see you, kittens need to be in twos - especially if they are left on their own or they get lonely.
Greenbee - chocolate making course? How lovely! I got some moulds from Lakeland yesterday, and I bought Greweling on Chocolate & Confections before DH lost his job so I plan to have a play at some point.

I am busy working through kilos and kilos of apples from our trees. Determined not to waste anything this year, all this change has made me look at places we can cut down and we are by no means out of the woods yet. I have a magimix juicer so have made vast quantities of juice for freezing, some apple curd from weezls website and best of all dried some apple rings with cinnamon in the oven. Still have several more big trug tubs to get through (mix of cookers/eaters - not many fit for storing), and lots of quinces that I haven't a clue how to use.

There was a recipe on here a few weeks ago for an apple cake (possibley for/by Triker)? Can anyone remember and point me in the right direction?

    :eek::eek::eek:
Why would anyone do a thing like that?

Just scanned yesterday as I was out all day.
Sorry to hear you are still 'inside' toots.

Waiting for WM to finish so I can hang out. Then need to go to shop for cream - going to make mini-quiches and thought I had everything in already so would not involve spending (but not the flaming cream).

    Hugs, congrats, where needed.

    Morning all

Didn't put the computer on yesterday so I'm way behind - hope everyone's OK.

Sunny day again but we had a frost this morning. Washing out on the line, roast dinner started - have to have it early so DH can be in front of television for GP later!

Going to try catching up now.

    Happy Anniversary Dusty :):happylove

    Happy Birthday Valli :) :bdaycake:

And Happy Anniversary to cyclingyorkie too :D
