He seems settled now but will want feeding in 20 mins or so and DS1 is home and demanding my attention. He has hit the "I want" stage running and since we got home from preschool (and the whole walk home - takes me 6 minutes on my own and 25 with him walking...) it's been "I want juice" "I want pasta" "I want Peppa Pig" ARGH! I'm trying to teach him to say "I would like...please" but it's not going in. I will not give up though!
Going to try and sneakily tidy the conservatory for 15 mins while they're both quiet-ish, then I might actually get it mopped this side of christmas...
Try reminding them to ask nicely by repeating what they say as you would like it to be said..
'I want pasta'
'That's nice'..
'I want pasta'
'Do you not mean.. Please could I have some pasta?.. '
'I want pasta'
'then ask properly as I have already shown you.. then you can have pasta'
*'I want pasta'
'Please could I have some pasta?.. '
* repeat until you both die of old ageLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I would say to mine "sorry, I can see you're trying to say something, but it just makes no sense to me". When the say please, say, "Oh, I see, you're asking for juice/chocolate/ice cream; of course you can have that". Tiresome at first, but if they know they should be asking politely, they soon get the message
