The original poster said Is anyone a 'My Secret Kitchen' Partyplan Consultant on this forum?

It did not ask you to join and promote your company, nor did it ask for one of your consultants to join and say how wonderful it is. Its not the done thing to go on forums and promote your opportunity in the first posts you make, and apart from that its against this site,s rules.

So is it fair that someone who is not a consultant has the freedom to post when the original post was looking for a consultant's view?

Of course its fair that members help each other with suitable advice. Thats what this site is all about. As long as they dont make defamatory or abusive remarks i cant see what the problem is.Your notice the original poster thanked posters for their advice.

For the benefit of other members clare is part owner of the company the thread is about.

the forum rules are quite clear clare, you need permission from the forum to post (it is also to chek you are who you say you are and protect your sites reputation ANYONE could join up and say they were co-owner) , until you have their permission you are unable to post

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/site/forum-faqs

How do I get a right of reply on what's been said about my company?
If you're from a company, have seen a post you feel is defamatory or abusive and would like the right of reply please email the Forum Team at abuse@moneysavingexpert.com to ask.
A member of the MSE Team will carry out checks to confirm that you are authorised to represent the company in question.
Provided you have authority to represent your company, you may either be asked to give a statement, which one of the MSE Team will post on your behalf in reply, or be given permission to post directly on the specific thread.
Where permission has been given for you to post directly on a thread, a note from the MSE Team will appear on the thread confirming this.
If someone has posted claiming to be from a company but this has not been followed by a MSE Team note confirming authorisation please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

We also have a very limited number of 'Company Representatives'; these are checked out and verified spokespeople for specific firms. This status is granted entirely at our discretion, where we've identified it as being in forum users' interests.
Which type of companies are allowed?

We strictly limit it to household name companies which have huge numbers of customers and companies that have been mentioned in the MSE guides or non-profit advice agencies we have a relationship with.
Why are company representatives allowed?

The primary aim is to allow reps to help MoneySavers who have issues with the company - providing redress or instruction on how to work with it better - it is not and must never been seen as an avenue to sell or promote products.
Companies reps are enabled to allow a company to answer existing and numerous questions posted on the forum about the company or its services.
We limit the number both so we're not swamped, but also as there are a critical mass of MSE users who are customers of these companies and want redress.
What are they allowed to post about?

It's a strictly 'reactive' policy and each company rep is allowed one thread to respond to. If reps are trying to promote their products (or it suspiciously looks like they've had questions drafted to illicit such response) please report them to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com and we may remove the 'Company Representative' privilege.
