I'm I paying too much with telewest?

My flatmate is on telewest broadband paying £25.00 pm, I pay £15.99 pm for AOL dial up. The phone line is telewest but was originally BT. Would BT charge to reconnect with them so we can rearrange our internet access for better deals?I would consider sharing Broadband but it would be tricky because 5 walls are between us. I don't use the internet much at home so there is a deal for £4.99 i've found. I want to get a better deal for my flatmate.

The easiest answer would be to cancel your AOL dial up, saving £15.99 pm, then share your flatmate's broadband connection. To keep your flatmate happy, offer to pay for half of the monthly cost of the broadband.

In order to share the broadband connection between you and your flatmate, you need the following hardware; a cable broadband router, a network (NOT wireless) card for each computer and enough network cable to go from the router to each of the computers. Many computer shops sell kits containing all the necessary hardware. If you want to go for the wireless option you will need a wireless cable broadband router (the fast one you can afford and preferably one with multiple aerials; for better speed/reliability) and a wireless network card for each computer.

If you want to save even more money, i would cancel your phone line as well then signup with one of the many 'Internet Telephony' providers and make calls over the broadband connection. if you want more info on this, read this post.
