Copied from comping guide, so all credit to Velvetglove. I think a lot of serious compers have had to go down this route so really try not to worry as they will try to resolve all the matters for you - just try to give them as much info as possible to help them sort it.

7 What happens if my prize doesn’t turn up?
This is going to be individual to each comp. Usually it will state in the T & C for each comp how long it should take for the prizes to be dispatched to winners. As a general rule though or in the absence of any particular details in the T & C, allow 28 days, (allow more if we are experiencing postal strikes or extreme weather conditions). If the prize hasn't arrived by then, get in touch with the company offering the prize. Try to contact the person whose details you have & ask politely if there is a problem with delivery. A telephone call is the best way, but failing that try emailing them. If they don't reply, look on the original website for contact details & contact them, again being as polite as you can.

If you still get no response from them, there are a few different things you can try.

The Institute of Sales Promotions [EMAIL="complaints@isp.org.uk"]complaints@isp.org.uk[/EMAIL] lay down the guidelines which comp organisors must follow. MSE Compers have reported that they are very good at investigating dodgy comps & missing prizes with one chap in particular [EMAIL="edwinm@isp.org.uk"]Edwin Mutton[/EMAIL], being an absolute star.

The Advertising Standards Authority have an online complaints form.

I had an issue with a prize not turning up & after chasing politely for 5 months, I mentioned that I had been advised to talk to the Institute of Sales Promotions about the matter. Funnily enough that resulted in a letter of apology within a few days, along with a box of ‘Apology Goodies’ & my prize turned up 2 weeks later. Just remember to keep your cool & remain polite.

To be honest I would have phoned them & asked what date your tickets were for, I did this recently & they were very helpful.

What I would do now though is follow the details from my last post, and good luck x

Thank you i will look into it, im trying to contact the place where i entered the competition, i dont think its up to me to go ringing the actual theatre. xx

Maybe i should have done that but at the time i didnt even know when the show was ending? i looked on saturday then saw it was the last day, never mind im just annoyed they havent explained thats all, it wouldnt seem so bad if someone had just said im sorry you got overlooked thats all im miffed about. xx

..ah sorry i thought from your original post that the email came from the theatre and the prize was at the theatre

The lady from route 69 mag sent me an email and said i had won, she said in the email that lucy from curve had been given my name and number and would be contacting me, by friday i hadnt received any call so i emailed the lady from route 69 back and said i hadnt had any call or email from lucy, she sounded suprised and said oh dont worry and left it like that!

she then said the winners usually get contacted and told to pick the tickets up from the box office and i would be getting a call when they are ready to pick up but i didnt.

I was assuming they were going to be posted but no. xx

Most ticket comps you would need to collect them from theatre/show, you do this on the date of the performance. HTH x

She said wait for the phone call to arrange the tickets? im just going to leave it its not really worth the hassle.

I couldnt hardly turn up at the theatre and ask wheres my tickets because they were not expecting me? i i was under the impression they would be posted, it wasnt until the friday i hadnt received anything i contacted the comp lady who assured me this lucy would ring me when they were ready, but she didnt.

Oh well i`ll live and learn im annoyed but there you go. x
