Completed and have the keys!!

Options
It's gone according to plan, and we completed this morning at 11:30. Went to pick up the keys at 15:00, and then went to have a look in the house- we're FTBs so will be slowly moving in over the next couple of weeks.

All seems a bit of an anti-climax after 3 months of stressing out over it. I guess when we start moving furniture in and decorating in we'll start to feel at home!

Thanks for all the advice over the last couple of months.

  • Fantastic!!

It's just nice to be in the knowlede that you could, if you so wish, paint the walls all the colours of the rainbow and nobody could say anything (apart from the taste police!) because it's your house!!

I can't wait for my turn.

    Congratulations

I'm also in the process of buying my first home and I can't wait for the day when I have the keys in my hands. I'm a first time buyer and a little daunted by the whole process but I must be independant someday...

Hope you are happy in your new home.
This space is available to rent... :D
  • Recently done the first time buyer thing on my own. Was a struggle, and now it's even more of a struggle, things like your first shop take all your money, aswell as all the DIY expense!

Deffo worth it though. I'm still without things like an oven as simply cannot afford it, as only lst month all my solicitors money, stamp duty, deposit etc etc went out!
  • Well done and good luck. I remember when I got the keys to my first home and just sat on the stairs for an hour thinking, this is mine! It was also good being able to do what I wanted, when I wanted and how I wanted.

Anyway, enjoy your new home and relax.
  • Well done.Wish it was me

  • Thank you everyone! The feeling of owning a house is great. We've been over there all day doing DIY- just really making it ours. I just love the feeling of being able to do what i want with the house and when i want.

For those of you in the process of buying at the moment, believe me, it may seem like one of the most stressful things ever, but when you actually complete and have the house, you'll realise that it was all worth it.
