Depends, some "dealers" aren't dealers at all, and even those that are, they're still independent companies.

Depends on the individual company/group what deals they have on.

If you look on the Driver's Centre pages (it's under Owner Services) on the Vauxhall website there's a 50% off voucher for MOTs.

But they will fail it on something and inflate the price to more than what the 50% discount is worth.

Just use a Council run MOT centre. They dont go looking for work.

Neither do 99% of testers.

As an allegeded motor trader, do you enjoy knocking the industry you work in? What would happen if I said all motor dealers are just looking to rip people off?

My local back home does them for £35 but I wouldn't trust them. I'd much rather take it (in order of preference!) to a council MOT place, some other place that only does MOTs or a local independent garage I know and trust or have been recommended to. The advantage of going to an independent garage is they can do the work there and hopefully then, if any needs doing, rather than faffing around driving a potentially unroadworthy car to another garage.

Just take it to anywhere with a reasonable repuation displaying one of these, whether that be a test station, garage, authority workshop.



Just say you want an MOT test, and that you will take the vehicle away to repair elsewhere.

Jobs a good'un. What vehicle is it?
