It is becoming a fine line between both, but the experts normally say a vintage car is anything pre 1930. A classic car is anything after 1931.

    I've finally caught up...

Am sending you a whole bunch of hugs, how can people put off paying you like this? Have they no conscience?

That money is yours by right, I do hope at least some of it materialises soon.

And I'm glad you still have the car. :)

Thanks miggy. Good to see you again. x

I guess everyone is struggling these days. There just seem to be so many glitches, when it comes to being paid :o

Car has got to the state now where i'm watching the needle on the fuel gauge and trying to work out how many miles i have left.

    I'm not offended either :D

Frustrated, as i hate to see you struggling so much when I know I could help in a small way, but not offended at all. I can understand pride getting in the way or you not wanting to feel like a charity case as I find it really difficult to accept help from others too. Silly, as I love to help others and it makes me feel good. What strange people we are.

Anyway, can you explain the difference between a classic car and a vintage car to me please. Or are the margins blurred? I would have thought the early MG's could have been both!

Its a huge obstacle, pride, and it is more rewarding to give, than receive, and i prefer to be on the giving side.

Maybe i should have said veteran and not vintage. I'm sure its you who was talking about the London to Brighton, veteran car run, ( pre 1905 ), i think. Ah well, i'll never have a veteran car, but a classic car is'nt a bad second best. I was thinking today, with the talk the other night, you rarely see my car out and about these days. Its certainly weeks, maybe more, since i've seen one, thinking about it. I think more and more owners only use them for a ' sunday afternoon car ', which is a bit if a shame, because i've always said the pleasure is derived from driving, not polishing :D

    Thanks beanie xx

Pay went in today. Pay came out today, but at least the rent is paid. But with nothing to spare. I'm fed up of living like this, but first bill paid, and one less to worry about. But the beginning of the month will come around again like greased lightening. Could'nt sell my phone, but i had an old phone they are willing to buy, £23. Back tomorrow to do the deed. How stupid is this? But £23 is £23's worth of petrol, and should hopefully, just about get me to work for the week, with a bit of luck. Now its back to checking my bank account, everyday, as usual. Its an odd feeling when i see money in my account, almost unbelievable, but then i know the feeling will be short lived, as i decide which bill to pay next. Maybe xmas will come, tomorrow. No phone calls, but its too soon, anyway.

Twas me talking about something old enough for the London to Brighton - When I win the lottery maybe :rotfl:

A lot of these people with vintage/veteran/classic cars have special insurance that means they can only drive them on high days and holidays or limited milage each year. They also have a 2nd car and this is their toy. Lucky people

I am glad you haven't had any phone calls yet, long may it continue ;)

Also pleased some money has come in, even if it has gone right out again, just like it does in my account - pay in on the 26th, all bills out by the 1st :( So on a good month I can be rich for 5 days, in February just 2 days :rotfl:

My last word on the giving thing...... I helped a friend out in a small way a long time ago and when they were in a better position they offered me it back. I asked them to keep it but to use it to help someone else in need in the future if the occasion presented itself. They now regularly volunteer their time to help a local charity which is as good in my book as donating actual money and they get a kick out of doing it

Ha, started logging in as you know who again. That bloody name, its only a name is'nt it? Yet i have'nt quite reconciled myself with my new name yet. Wait while i get march out of the way, get to spring, proper. April is my second favourite month, and so it should be, as thats when i was born. Maybe i should have chosen something with ' hope ' in it, but i chose something completely different, me being me. Its still not part of me, yet though, even though it is. I should just blank it out, the same as i do other things, like bankruptcy and repossession. I've brught a shutter down in my mind, and as much as i'd like to visit the bankruptcy board and help others like myself, i avoid it like like plague, now. Where's the reasoning in that, huh? But its soul destroying watching others asking the same questions, time after time. Always someone new, asking the same old question. Maybe one day.

Checked bank account. Said exactly what i expected it to say. I'll have to ring them again, and risk the ' wrath '. So off to town now, to do what has to be done. But at least its 9 days on the road, so to speak. Get to see the tower too, shame i have'nt time to go to the seafront, and gorge myself on some fresh sea air. One day. If, i finally get back on my feet, i'd like a few days break at the seaside. I just need to get away from it all, for a while, don't i?

Okay, enough of that, ( previous post ).

Surprisingly, i'd rather drive the car, i drive, than a veteran car, etc. Although they are wonderful to admire, of course, and part of the history of the automobile :rotfl:I'm a bit of a nutter, and go for performance every time. Reliability too. I was thinking the other day, although i've had a huge outlay on my car in the last year, its only because i had'nt the money to replace things, that had to be replaced. Mot failures, like tyres, cat, etc. Once i've paid the insurance, ( which is quarterly ), and the road tax, ( which i want to pay the whole year, if possible ), it should be a years relatively repair free motoring, i hope. Just the petrol :o You only have to go the motoring boards to see how many problems people have with their cars. In all these years, i've only had two relatively minor problems, one with the brake calipers, on the first one, and one with the boot latch on the second one. I still feel, if i get rid, i'll just end up with a pile of someone else's carp. Yes its older, and you never know what will go, but i'm still optimistic i'll get some trouble free motoring for the imminent future. You just can't beat em, for reliabilty.

I'd rather play with my toy :rotfl::rotfl:

Okay. My last word too. This is'nt a begging diary. This is a maybe too truthful diary, of how it is. Some people may be further along their journeys, or not started them yet, and its all too easy to say, do this ,do that. Its still only three months since my house was repossessed. I don't know for sure, if its sold yet, because i just can't bring myself to pick up the phone and speak to my neighbour. To some extent it feels my house was on another planet. I'm trying to move forward, but you can't keep justyfying yourself to others. Maybe some think i don't help myself, and maybe i don't, but i'm sure you know how an arian reasons. Irrationally :p

I hear what you are saying, and i send my heartfelt thanks to you Maty, beanie, Aesop, and srm. I've still every intention of taking up that offer of fish and chips, ( i would never turn down fish and chips ), and i would love to meet you. But could i be forgiven? when mse is always saying be careful who you trust, don't give out personal information about yourself. Maybe i'm overly protective of myself, and its becoming too detrimental to my sociability. To the extent i can't even socialise on an internet forum, either. Sorry, i'm rambing.

Anyway, i know the thought is ( still )? there, if required in the future? I only have to ask ( i never will ). But maybe i might relent on the daffodils, as i still have'nt had any. I've got to have some daffodils for my birthday, if nothing else. In fact i ' bought ' one of those daffodils you get in the charity boxes, yesterday. They had one at the till at the bank. I just could'nt resist, and i'm ashamed to say my urge to have the daffodil, overcame the realisation i did'nt have a decent amount of money to put in the charity box. So i put the spare bits of change i had, in the box, and felt very guilty. Ah well, is'nt it supposed to be the thought that counts, not the fact it probably cost more to make, than i gave for it, ( or donated to charity ).

Maybe there are some good people out there xx :A
