I though 10p was the minimum bid increment not 1p?

There is a sliding scale set by ebay, I think for bids under £1 the imcrement is 1p.

its sounds to me like the person had put in a maxium bid of something higher than the bid that needs to be done, and when someone else bids, and its lower than his max bids it would show him bidding again. Hopefully you know what i mean

i bid on an item last night, with a max bid, once the bid had gone ,through i noticed a button, asking if i wanted to raise my maximum bid, which i did, after the second time id didnt give me the option to raise again......!

but i agree, it looks like the newbie was trying to find out what the reserve price was.... but as you can see, they have now been outbid.....
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • people often do this to put off other bidders, if they see that alot of people are bidding on one item they will automatically go for the same item that only has say 1 or 2 bids.
