Thinking of applying for a job in McDonalds

I don't get paid for lunch either. I would rather work at Mcdonalds for the rest of my life than sign on for 6 months. My current job is a pain in the a*se but it is 1000000000000000000000000 times better than dragging my a*se to the useless no job centre to sign on every 2 weeks.
Nothing wrong with working at Mcdonalds and at least you get a free lunch. Although make sure you eat a proper meal later on in the day I think living off Big Macs for the rest of your life will probably turn your skin a funny shade.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -
I've never known a job where you get paid for lunchtimes ... and I've worked for over 30 years in dozens of companies.TEDDYRUKSPIN wrote: »

Where are the McD's jobs anyway? All I ever saw was a generic website saying "work for us/apply", but no idea of where they were based, or if there were jobs/doing what, and no locations at all.
10 sounds a lot - did everybody leave?0 -
Those 10 jobs are in 3 different restaurants close to me. If you go to the Mcdonalds careers website, click apply now you then have to put in a post code for jobs available close to you or you can just put in the city. Mcdonalds are doing well in the recession and are expanding in the UK so this is probably why the jobs are available plus maybe high turnover as they employ lots of students.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Cough: BT 'Openreach' Engineers, but they do have to supply their own lunch .... (Union let them down there....) :rotfl:PasturesNew wrote: »I've never known a job where you get paid for lunchtimes ... and I've worked for over 30 years in dozens of companies.0 -
I'd work in McDonalds over signing on too, but I don't see the "free food" as a perk!! YUK lol0

I worked there for two years while doing A levels and first year at uni.
Its incredibly easy work but keeps you busy so the time passes quite quickly, especially at weekends.
I was promoted to staff trainer in 6 months, manager in a year and it would have simple to go further quite quickly if I'd been full time, so there are opportunities. Progressing to the top of the 'in-store' ladder is easier than breaking out into real office based management but its possible.
I've had much worse jobs, although I stopped having any desire to eat the food after about a month there and haven't set foot in one since I left 6 years ago!0
