That did come over ... for me anyway. You reminded me of a friend of mine who is lovely and well-meaning but sometimes puts her foot in it in certain situations (sorry lol!)

    ooh tuppie,

of course your still a competition friend, the comments are in relation to what we were expecting by your initial post and to what we actually saw.
I totally agree this is a cooking programme but unfortunately the producers deliberately put people together who are not going to mix well.
It was nice to put a face to the name

Aaaw, well done Tuppie for putting yourself out there and braving tv. I completely sympathise with how you've been feeling in the run up to this show. I was on a (different)series last year and it's really nerve wracking knowing everyone is going to form an opinion of you having only seen an edited version of what you're really like. At least you've experienced a taste of tv, lots of people would be jealous just for that.

Don't worry, OP. No-one really cares, and none of it actually matters.

I don't really know what to say about how you came across as we are all different personalities with different ways of behaving and reacting to certain situations - it's what makes us all human and how the world goes round, the world would be boring if we were all the same:)

If I hadn't read your thread on here before you wouldn't really have stood out as being a bad contestant as would any of the others but all I can say is that your experience is another for why I am so glad I didn't get any further than the first CDWM telephone interview - I think they have sooooo much material for editing that they could make anything out of anyone.

I certainly would not have dared come back and read this thread:D

Well done for being brave enough to try it. I wouldn't have had the guts. When the guy was asking about your hobbies, it is probably just as well that you didn't mention comping. I'm sure that most people view us compers as a sad lot and I dare say the guy would have had a laugh at that at your expense.

I think that as has been said before everything that we see has been carefully edited to make entertaining viewing.

The show would have been edited purely for entertainment value so I dont see how anyone can justify forming such a harsh opinion of Tuppie as some of you have. How about giving a fellow MSE'er the benefit of the doubt, especially as she go's to the trouble of posting comps for everyone elses benefit.

I have done a few interviews for a local campaign a few years ago, and seeing how much material they take of you - yet how things can be twisted, whether its paper or print, always makes me wonder about the editing of any of these type of shows.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

I dont know why most people see comping as a sad hobby but ive certinly got some stick for it from friends in the past. Oh well... the 2 extra holidays I will be enjoying this year thanks to comping will make me feel a little less pathetic :rotfl:
