Bless you Beanie. I might go and mark in bed. So tempted to watch the tv. My friends are all telling me to relax. Everyone had highpowered jobs and they are all quitting as they want their lives back. I am just a teacher and I should be able to cope. I might go to mark in bed though. Goodnight Beanie. Steve has gone for a drive to the beach. He does that every Sunday. I cant believe i saw him earlier in the week. I hope that No Hope is ok. George said to say hello to everyone on the thread. Work is frantic again for him.

I will ring susan at 9. I will post tomorrow. Have a good lie in Beanie and friendly lurkers. Goodnight, from me.

    Goodnight Kit.
Take it easy on the marking.
I think marking is most teachers big bane of their life if you get my drift.
Enjoy your extra hour in bed & tell susan I said hi x

Hello i spoke to Susan, she is so wise about everything isn't she? today her mum was accidentally fed custard even though she is was officially Nil by mouth. She was completely ok with it. Susan has been telling the hospital staff that her mum ingested solids without any problem at home. And in fact, she enjoyed it too. She is hoping the speech therapist can intervene on Monday so her mum can take solids again. Susan sounded bright and chipper.

She cheered me up. I am going to watch some tv. I will wake up early to do the marking. Everyone remember to do whatever it is to their clocks so they sleep extra and wake up at the right time tomorrow. Susan should be on the 'puter by Monday i hope. Goodnight all. SW.

Good evening all, remember to put your clocks and watches back an hour when you go to bed tonight as we go back to proper time (GMT). I am so kerknackered after 3 long days on Planet Stupid (work) that I am dying to get to bed to take advantage of the extra hour's kip. Trouble is I have a glass of Spanish vino to plough through first (Sainsburys Basics red wine, not the best but drinkable). Just having a quick dash around the threads I subscribe to, so much to catch up on.......what's your current blood sugar level, SW?

Good thinking SW - do a blood sugar reading before bedtime and if it's in single figures then maybe have a little something to eat (Breakfast cereal or a sandwich might be a bit more healthy and long lasting than biscuits, though!)

I should be 12 before bed. Nargle, how do you know? You are right. Susan said you and Tixy and the NTN had been really helpful to her with advice for her mum. If you hadn't asked i would have gone to bed. i thought i was ok but headache is back. Should've guessed.

Beanie, I'm assuming SW is shoving a pack of biscuits down her neck at the moment so I'll answer that one for her!

4.9 is normal for a normal healthy human being (range anywhere between 4 and 7 is ok, some doctors and diabetes specialists are happy with slightly higher readings depending on the person themselves). If you are a diabetic who takes insulin, however, there is always a risk of the sugar level getting very low to the point of causing you to go into a coma. When you are in bed for 8 hours or so then obviously you are not eating, so someone like SW, who is prone to low blood sugars, needs to have a higher level at bedtime to compensate for the natural fall in sugar levels overnight. Which is why people on insulin should check their levels before bedtime and have a little supper if necessary.

People not on insulin sometimes have the opposite problem, too high sugars, which can be life threatening if not dealt with.
