I read up on the Law of Contract. Nowhere does it say that by slipping a tenner (or anything) to a claimant (PPC) that this will somehow satisfy the courts that you have made a reasonable payment for 'goods'. The claimant would have to show that a contract DOES exist and also show that the amount being claimed is compensation for losses sufferred.

HJ is making this up as he goes along, and as for his scores of 'successful cases' ...........:rotfl:

I'm beginning to wonder whether HJ has the ear of a few PPCs or the BPA.

Must say there is something appealing about the idea of sending the PPC's a cheque for 20p as reasonable compensation :D

That would require a backbone he has so far not shown.

I thought Honest John dealt with matters such as whether the gearbox was likely to go in your 2003 Nissan Micra or not.

Sounds like he's stepped outside his comfort zone.

Don't forget to send the cheque written on an old tyre as well. Yes, it is just as legal as a paper cheque from a chequebook...
