O2 24 month , £20 contract- can I change tariff

Hello
in february I took this contract with O2, through the Carphone Warehouse, downgrading the tariff from a £25 one ( I don't use all the minutes).

Now, having been quite frugal in my mobile usage, I want to drop another level and go down to £15 for a 24 months contract (less minutes, but I don;t mind). It has been six months since I took the contract- Can I do that?

I phoned them this morning and was told I am already on the lowest tariff for the 24 months contract, but I have looked and that is not true- there is £15 one that I would very much like to move to.

Is it worth giving them another call and quoting this tariff?

Many thanks,

A

It might depend on what phone you got ? The cost of the handset has to be covered over the length of the contract...

You can try but probably not. O2 only usually allow one change at the 9 month point so I'm suprised you have already been reduced.

Tarrifs change often and just because there is a cheaper tarriff now than there was when you took it out that's not a reason to change.

By all means call and ask but I suspect you won;t get the answer you want.

    Good luck.

I got an Xpress music one (touch screen one, but read very bad reviews and sold it for £95)...

The initial tariff I was on right at the beginning (over three, four years ago) was £35.00, but after checking my usage I started to drop a tariff at a time... contract came to end end in Feb and that's when I got upgraded and given a brand new phone...
