they spend around £40m a year on property, plant and equipment in order to keep it maintained. They also have £550m of current liabilities against current assets (- inventories) of £120m.
Depreciation of asset worth while loans secured against it appreciate. I would have thought that would stop them declaring a profit
Simpliest consideration for me is their business growing or not. Supply and demand, seems high street demand is declining in three different ways for them maybe.
So they do totally fail the invest only in growing business slant I would want0 -
My kids had an HMV card and I made them go out and spend it 4 months ago. You could see what was gonna happen, esp after their xmas results.
I buy them games and music for xmas and Bday. and they buy with their pocket money. but look to where it is cheapest, and new stuff is never cheapest there. What I used to buy there was older stuff on sale. But soon we will all be streaming (legally of course ;-) so I won't even be buying DVDs any more.0
