hope someone can help, the water pressure from my hot tap in my bath seems to be decreasing over the last few weeks, to the extent that i can't have a bath cos it would take hours to fill:p
cold tap is fine, and so is the hot tap on the bathroom and kitchen sinks.
will i need a plumber or does this sound like something simple?
i'm new to this DIY lark but i don't mind having a bash, just need some advice on what i'm looking for
TIA

I know very very little about plumbing but could it be somehow that the washer has gone in your bath tap? May be something completely different of course!!0

I would go along with what Mrs baggins said.
You need to stop the supply to the hot water before you take the tap apart. Any reasonable DIY'er should be able to help.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
i 'm guessing something similar but i didn't want to start taking things apart incase i c*ck it up

Why is this a common problem with the quarter turn taps?
(we've got those - nice little lever handles that you only turn a quarter of a circle to turn full on)

sounds like you need to stop the hot water from the main tank, then take apart the tap heads and just squeeze a bit of washing up liquid in or grease to loosen up the taps so it will start turning.
It happends a lot to hot water tapes due to the limescale build up, and is only a 10 minutes job max for a novice.
Hope that helps.0 -

the quarter turn ceramic disc don't like scale a lot - but you can get 1/4 turn mechanical valves though0 -
Is this happening with all of your hot taps or just the bath tap?0

thanks but don't think thats the problem, the tap is turning there's just little or no water coming out
or do you mean theres something inside the tap head which may have stopped turning?Wiggly:heartpulsFB0
