My busiest ever month was August (last month) and although i've been away this month for a week, i've come back and the trend seems to be slow. I'm expecting it to go crazy in Oct/Nov/Dec for the xmas period.0

Same for me - anyone got a shop though? this is why our sales are down so having to put our cheaper stuff on Auction and then the more expensive stuff on a shop listing.
I think people had a lot to pay out last month with the kids going back to school - we have had a busier couple of days so maybe it is starting to pick up again. Only 2 more paydays until Xmas - hurrah......0 -

I have a shop but still list everything as auction at the moment because of the fees for shop listing. All auctions get seen in the shop so I think its worth £6 a month.0 -

I was horrified when I worked out that final value fees are so much higher in shops almost double, the problem is it is good to have one of the items on auction or buy it now and have more in the shop. I recently sold an Elmo and have cancelled the sale becaue ebay took around £8 and I ended up with £5.45 sometimes it is not worth selling high priced items unless the profit is good. :eek:0 -
lovetoshop, if you 'sold' an item you can't then cancel the sale as it is too late. You can only stop an auction before it finishes, once it finishes you are stuck with paying all the final value fees regardless of whether you release the buyer from their obligations or not.
Work out your fees before you sell otherwise they can mount up and surprise you.
