Phone upgrade from Phones4U
Hi everyone. I am on my first contract phone at the moment and just trying to find out more information about when my contract comes to an end, what happens.
Basically when I took out the contract, my phone which I got for free, its value was around £400.
So in 6 months time, when my contract comes to an end, and I will get the choice of an upgrade - WHAT phones will I be given a choice of? Will there even be a choice? And will its value be around the same £400?
Many thanks

You get the choice of any phone that the network carry. But the better the phone the more the monthly tariff will be. Also, the longer you're out of contract the better the offer you'll get.
You can get upgraded 3 months before the end of your minimum term, but you won't get a very good offer at the point as a rule. . .0 -
Thanks for your answer.
But my main question is will I get roughly the same type of phone (spec, value) as the one I have now, if I decide to keep the same contract...?0 -
The network do tend to give better deals to new customers than to upgrades, but it depends of a number of factors.
Any upgrade offer is based on your spend over the last 6 months. If you've gone over your minutes/texts ect (ie they've made money out of you) you'll get a good offer. If you've spent not a lot then it'll be not some good and they may ask you for £X for the handset. Also, if you want a phone that's just come out that month, the odds are it won't be free. The longer a phone been around the less the networks want for it.
You get a better idea by reading whats on some on some of the retention threads, you can see then what people are being asked for and what theit getting in terms of phone and min/texts/data etc. . .0 -
Your contract doesn't end. It just reaches the end of it's minimum term and you are then on a 30 day rolling contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
