Please be aware of Brunel Franklin ,I used them and wished now that I had never heard of them, After trying to contact them during the PPI claim and getting no response I decided to contact the loan company and received a very reasonable offer which I accepted ,they informed Brunel Franklin of my offer and then Brunel Franklin sent me their invoice ,25% plus of the offer plus VAT , and saying I had received more than I actually received. now Iam getting regular phone calls asking if the cheque has cleared and can I make a payment ,their invoice is £1640 which I will have to pay ,for this they have done nothing ,anyone reading this please be careful what you sign and who you deal with ,my advice is DO NOT USE BRUNEL FRANKLIN0

The point which you make is true of all the Claims Management Companies. The most they do is forward your completed complaint form to the Lender. They do no research for you and have no more chance of success than you have acting alone. It's also not true that they can negotiate more money than you can alone.
None of the regulars here will recommend a CMC, beware anyone who does and suspect that they work for one.0 -
Help! have received a PPI Settlement figure from HFC .... But I was in an IVA it finished in Jan 12... so HFC are keeping all of the money to pay off the balance I still owe with them...but I still have to pay Brunel Franklin 30% of the settlement figure... No one said this would happen... :0( I have many more ppi claims with BF but have decided to cancel as can not risk not having enough compensation to pay BF's fees and end up owing BF and receiving nothing...
They say that they are going to charge me. What is the most they can charge??
I have very little money as it is...0 -

it is a warning we give on this site all the time.
You must never use a claims company if you have defaults, amounts written off or arrears as you will be billed on the full redress amount even if you only see a reduced amount or not even a penny. They say that they are going to charge me. What is the most they can charge??
Whatever it states in your contract with them.
You could consider complaining to BF and then to the ministry of justice as they should have refused to take you on as a client if they knew you were in this position.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). We have had nothing but hassle from these. My partner got fed up of them cold calling him so he gave in and agreed for them to search our history.
Some 6 months later they phone on a daily basis, first house phone, then mobile to request that we send back the authorisation letters back from the individual companies, often days before receiving them.
1 Successful claim so far - £136ish with £40 fee
Phoned to ask for payment before receiving the confirmation letter, never mind the cheque.
Sent me a reminder to make the payment before 28 days (I had every intention of paying it).
Had several aggressive callers phone up to 7 times a day. Feel like telling them where to stick it but they will probably charge for that.
Save yourself the grief and don't use them!0 -
I had a successful claim with a company a couple of years ago and now be has been in touch sayin they have teamed up with prev company and can now get me the rest of the money owed as they say the banks have held other money back but I'm not so sure and having read all these reviews it looks like it mite be a waste of time0

I made the mistake of going through Brunel Franklin about 4 years ago purely because I knew nothing regarding PPI's and didn't know the banks will actually pay out if you contact them directly. I thought best that would happen even if I did have PPI's was about £2000. In fact I was received over £10000 and Brunel Franklin made £2400 from it for what I know now due to making further claims on credit cards and more loans going further bank. For me it just seemed to be a couple of phone calls and the completion of a form. The government seem to be doing things regarding some of these pay day loaning companies but they should do something about these PPI compensation companies and it's actually money the banks owe you and most seem to be happy to just pay out.
Does anyone know if you can actually make a claim against companies like Brunel Franklin as I do feel like I was mugged by them. I'm sure when I was making the claim it was me who seemed to be doing all the chasing up with the bank and up dating Brunel Franklin regarding letters I had received.0
