Just had a look at Equibid. Sorry but that looks total rubbish to me, more expensive than Ebay, you have a "powerseller" that has a zero feedback (and looks like you've nicked the icon from ebay themselves), looks to be the only seller and... who says "buy from a trusted seller". Trusted seller on where ? not Equibid as they aint got any feedback on there to prove they "trusted seller". Paypal will not give seller or buyer protection on any sites except Ebay (who they partner with) so any buyers running into any problems will be stuffed.

OOh dear,
I do hope he has deep pockets as the ebay lawyers will be all over this ASAP and sue him for damaging the ebay brand....compensation.0 -
Actually there's one thing wrong with your reply to him - Paypal did strengthen their buyer protection schemes a while ago and now offer protection on most payments for goods or services, even if they are off-eBay sales."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Very interesting "About Us" page :rotfl:Blue n White0

Currently the site is in live payment mode. This means that after every listing you list, you pay the fee payable for that listing.
However if you have many items to list you can request to change your account to account mode. Currently the Debit limit is set at £40.00
You are then free to list as much as you want and pay once when the credit limit has been reached. Your account will be suspended untill you pay the fee.
You can also select to open a shop, please see our site fees page to see the cost of this.
On the FAQ page ... ... :rotfl:0 -
Only advantage is that you cant list a horse on Ebay, but on there you can.0

Dear users. I was a bit shocked when i saw all these comments. I have some things listed for sale. I think the site is great, a UK based company supporting local people.
I found the site was still a bit "under devolopment" but found it great to list items. I have had one sale and one purchase, both with no hassle.
I find the live payment mode is great, after each listing i paid my few pennies and item was listed. Where with ebay i use to get an invoice every month end and got a shocker when i suddenly have to pay all the fees. LOL.
And Crowqueen, You are 100 % correct Paypal offers buyer protection on any website you purchase from.
I think instead of being so negative, we should support local people trying to make a difference. I work in a Equine Supply store and list a few things. I will keep supporting this site, my fees are so much less than ebay.
Cally6008... have you tried buying some of the items from the site? Why not try it before you judge, you might be suprised how easy it is to use.
Like i said there is still some touchups needed on the site but I will grow my sales with it and support local British business.0 -
Ohhh anyone think the above user is part of the site lol0
