I never sand anything unless there's a big lump I want rid of . I use Wilko matt indoor varnish.
Annie Sloan paint is quite pricey and only available from certain shops or mail order. There are several other types of chalk paint on ebay & amazon. Emma Kate's blog has a tutorial on painting with emulsion but it needs prepping first.0 -
Can anyone please help me find the thread about crafts and such and renovating furniture? I dont know where to find it.
Thanks.0 -

Must say I haven't seen much about furniture renovations in either though. Have you tried youtube? Probably find what you want there.

Hi Northwest1965
I had a similar mirror which was a gold colour. I used a product called rub n buff in pewter which gave it a non shiny finish. They may have a nickel finish.Where there is love there is forgiveness:smileyhea0 -
