Thanks for your kind comments - It seems a split between A and C - not one vote for B - including on here and on UK Scrappers - that is fine - truly - but curious - please please please tell me can you spot what would be wrong with it - help me rule it out! Thanks peeps

BTW I still recommend Easy Surface Primer ESP instead of sanding - it is wonderful!

could you not chalk it out on the floor and walls where each 600 etc is going to give you more of an idea thats what i did when we were building last year, and despite the fact i ended up with a different kitchen than i expected to have my actual layout didnt alter and i knew where everything would go and could walk round and try it out

It's and extension, I don't think they've started building it. I like A and C infact I think I prefer C. I don't like the tall units being in the middle like that as they are in B.

danemi1, do you mean you don't have to sand down at all, and use this primer instead? Not sure that would work as in my spare room we've never decorated it and all the other skirting boards had layers and layers of paint to get through.

I do mean that hun Yes - it even works on mirrors allegedly - did you see my mahogany corner unit that I painted in farrow and ball's dimity (white) - a very light sand for a key was all it had and 18 months on - the dark wood is still now showing through!

Its a patch of grass at the mo hun with a fence in the middle and lots of trees there - so really fab idea but cant do it sadly
I have today been to Howdens and we sat for 3 1/2 hrs - the chap was brill and c definitely looks squashed - A is the way forward - thank you all I really appreciate it and have this afternoon found out that we start the build on Tuesday - aaagh terrifying and exciting all at once - lol!! Watch this space lol!
  • I would go with A. But what is the gap between the 2 units with the ovens in? I like the layout, think its the most appealing visually, and looks the most spacious.

Been lurking but am coming out to say... A, B or C would be fine by me as we have a teeny galley kitchen! Although I was drawn to C from a cooking perspective as it seems to have a smaller working triangle, and I like to look out of the window when at the sink. I think though the dining area might be too cramped.

For anyone who remembers my unfinished projects, we finally finished the bathroom and decorated it with the LA tatton in duck egg which was bought over a year ago, it now looks beautiful which is amazing considering it was a room I was very much ashamed of a few weeks ago. I finished the two remaining carver chairs from a table and 6 chair set bought last summer - they are all painted in LA "linen" eggshell. We had a mad push to get lots done over the last few weeks and have done lots of sewing (blinds, cushions and pelmet).

I have been following the thread although keeping very quiet but have been admiring all of the makes and lovely finds.

Made the curtains, sorry I had to share - I'm pleased with them, never made more than a cushion before. They are lined too!

Well done on the curtains meames, you've done well to jump from a cushion to lined, full-length curtains. What's next?
