Love your makes kframp! I have a scroll saw but find it hard to get a nice rounded edge on the hearts.

Debs cant wait to see the finished products!!

I just finished covering the shade of a floor lamp that I picked up at the auction along with a side table and picture frames all grouped together for £5 it was a total nightmare to cover after I finished covering it, I sat down with a cuppa and went blog hopping and someone had a tutorial on how to do one simply by sticking the fabric on to the shade ... wished i had seen it before I took the original shade off!

Have you got a link for the tutorial please? I've got a lampshade I want to recover but I keep putting it off because it looks difficult. :o

I would like to know too :D
Im in the process of revamping a pine corner unit I brought at a CB last summer, some idiot painted the inside with grotty green emulsion paint and its seeped into the cracks of the shelves so I have some paper to line it but I was wondering what was the best stuff to stick it down with?

Use a diluted PVA (50:50 with water) first, brush over the wood and leave to dry thoroughly. Then use wallpaper paste to attach the paper. Both can be bought in £land :)
  • Just thought Id pop in and see how everyone is today :) I joined the Shabby chic cafe a few days ago but I still can't post on there yet :( need to wait for it be activated I guess.

Welcome! We are very friendly over at the cafe so hang in there til Debbie activates your membership!

I had a very productive day today, firstly doing the undercoat on my kitchen cupboard doors, and then this evening I made 4 cushions with some lovely Cath Kidston fabric - red roses on a stone background. I absolutely love them! :)

I got a bargain yesterday a writing desk in a charity shop for £20 I had been after one for ages but wanted ones with queen anne legs and this is perfect!! pity the rain is on today or it would be outside sanded down and painted!

A question... I hope someone can help me please.. I have been eyeing a china cabinet which would be perfect for my kitchen but how do i paint the wood on the glass can it be removed or is it patience and perserverance in painting the fine wood on the glass doors?

Hi, not been around here for nearly a year, apathy hit hard.
Just had a quick whizz through some pages, I must catch up.
Again as usual loads of lovely lovely stuff.
I have loads if stuff to do. I bought a lovely old wardrobe & dressing table last week for £6 to add to my other 101 things to do up.
I wish that I could get a job as a buyer, I buy it all & then run out of steam when the doing it up comes along. I think I'm scared f doing it wrong & it looking crap.
Does anyone use a spray gun or do you all handpaint? If a spray gun which one can anyone recommend please?

Irishgirl I painted a large cabinet with glass in it which couldn't be removed so it was a case of patience, patience and a steady hand and a thin brush going around the glass:D (tis on my blog somewhere)

Hermum never had a spray gun, would love one but you would need to use it outside and it's too windy up here and I would end up being painted myself with the back draft :o (I wish I could be a buyer as well)

TTBOS Welcome and looking forward to seeing photos of your makes.

KTFramps Your makes are lovely, must be really handy having a OH who's a carpenter.
